Filippo Rinaldo studied classical and jazz piano at the Milan Conservatory, from which he holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Piano with distinction (summa cum laude and special mention). He attended various masterclasses at Siena Jazz, where had the opportunity of studying with Aaron Parks, Franco D’Andrea, Enrico Rava and many others. He played in several jazz orchestras including Verdi Jazz Orchestra, Dino Betti Van Der Noot Orchestra, and Area-M Orchestra, along with notable Italian and international guests. He recently joined the Milano Music Collective – a group of some of the most experienced musicians of the Milan area focusing on improvisation – and the Metropolitan Band, founded and directed by the trumpet and composer Giovanni Falzone. In 2018, the Milan Conservatory awarded him its first prize for the Jazz category (“Premio del Conservatorio”). He played in several festivals, including: Bergamo Jazz Festival, Bià Jazz Festival, Area- M, Parma Jazz Frontiere Festival, Cernusco Jazz Festival, Novara Jazz Festival, Expo 2015. Since 2012, he teaches Piano, Music theory and Ear-training at CPM Music Institute of Milan where he is Head of the Piano Department since 2019.
